The story

01 / 03

The weavers

A tradition carried from mother to daughter for centuries.

01 La Guajira

The Wayuu are an indigenous community in La Guajira, Colombia, a desert peninsula at the country’s northern tip. Theirs is a matriarchal society: when a girl comes of age, the women of her family teach her to weave.

02 The kanás

Each pattern, or kaná, draws on nature, animals and daily life. Despite real hardship in the region, the tradition has lived for centuries, and today weaving sustains many of their households.

The story

Why I started

I wanted the world to feel the energy these textiles bring into a room.

I have always been captivated by these textiles and the energy their color carries. I wanted to give that work a place in architecture and interiors, where it can be lived with every day.

Too often, weavers are not paid what their skill is worth. So I built this collection around them, with fair pay for every strap and part of every sale going back to their community.

The mission

To bring the weavers’ work into homes, hotels and restaurants around the world, and to make sure the value it creates goes back to the women who make it. Every lamp is a collaboration: their hands, our studio, your space.
